MEET THE ARTIST
2025 Graduate from BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice now seeking a full time career as an artist. I have a keen focus on feminist themes and "women's issues", previously explored these themes using horror/gore in both 2D and 3D mediums. As I continue to find myself as an established artist, I'm allowing myself to grow and explore more mediums and techniques.
My main medium as an artist is oil paint. I first discovered it in my final year of university and used it to explore emotionally fuelled topics relevant to my life at the time. As I moved away from self-destructive patterns and could no longer draw from my own experiences, I am now exploring wider cultural issues in baroque-like still life work.
My main goal with my work is to bring to light the unsightly parts of both life and "woman-hood", forcing my audience to question their habits and consumption of the images created.
I've always said I want people to look at my work and recoil - whether that's emotionally or physically. I want them to be faced with objects and images representing their darker side. My work speaks to the primal needs and questions if they belong in the modern world.
While the images in my work often depict the female body/anatomy, it is open to interpretation from all genders.
I make it a point to never reveal the intentions of my work, I leave it with the viewer to understand and process in their own way. While I may have attached experiences and trauma to my work, I understand viewers may resonate with my work and use it to explore/represent their own experiences and trauma. The gallery of my work will always be a safe space to process emotions and experiences that have no where else to go.
